James comes to the world of art late in life, finding a niche at the age of fifty. He started as a photographer and moved into digital painting under the tutelage of Gene Nocon.

Born in Amarillo, Texas, Jim has served in the Marine Corp, as a computer consultant, and a college professor before becoming an artist.

He is a member of NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) and
SDAI (San Diego Art Institute).
